A building permit for interior and exterior alterations was applied for the $2.1 Million project in the Millcreek Valley area of Midtown. The permit was applied for on March 6th. Steelcote Crossing will be Pier Property Group’s third project overall and second in this general area. Their neighboring development, Steelcote Lofts, should be open in May. Both the Lofts and Crossing are part of a broader development known as Steelcote Square. The third portion of the development is a new construction building known as Mill Creek Flats.

Steelcote Crossing will add 15 Micro Lofts to the currently industrial area as the trek towards a walkable neighborhood continues. A retail space will also be included that will be geared toward a micro brewery or a micro distillery. Construction should begin by the end of March and wrap up towards the end of the year.

The Columbia Oil Building was recently nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.

The building in it’s current state as of March 10th.
